API RP 582, Welding Guidelines for the Chemical, Oil, and Gas Industries is a recommended practice developed and published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) that provides supplementary guidelines and practices for welding and welding related topics for shop and field fabrication, repair, and modification of pressure-containingequipment, tanks, and other equipment or component items. It is intended to supplement the welding requirements found in codes such as ASME BPVC Section IX.
